How to Breed Anubis in Palworld 1.0: Fastest Working Routes

The fastest way to breed Anubis in Palworld 1.0 is not one universal parent pair. It is the working combination that uses two Pals you already own—or the fewest intermediate breeds from your current Palbox. That distinction matters because version 1.0 revised the breeding table, removing the famous Early Access shortcut.

If an older guide tells you to use Penking and Bushi, stop before spending a Cake. In the verified 1.0 data, Penking + Bushi produces Sibelyx, not Anubis. Use the current Anubis breeding guide or load Anubis in the reverse calculator before assigning your parents.

Anubis remains worth targeting. In the current data it has level 6 Handiwork, level 6 Mining, and level 4 Transporting, making one good hatch useful across several important base jobs. A combat-focused Anubis and a work-focused Anubis may need different passive lines, so decide what you want before you start rerolling eggs.

Six direct Anubis combinations that work in 1.0

How to find your actual fastest route

1. Check for a direct pair first

Open the Anubis guide and search the parent list for your strongest or most developed Pals. If two Pals you already own appear on the same row, that is a one-breed route. You only need the two individuals to be opposite genders; the order in which you place them in the farm does not matter.

Do not judge a route by how famous the parents were in Early Access. Version 1.0 inserted new species into the hidden breeding order and reviewed combinations across the roster. A less familiar 1.0 Pal may now be the cleanest parent for your save.

2. Use the path planner when no direct pair is available

If your Palbox has no complete direct pair, add the Pals you own to the Shortest Path Planner and choose Anubis as the target. The planner evaluates the same 1.0 combination graph as the calculator and returns an ordered breeding tree. Earlier children are reused as parents in later steps, so you do not need to catch every Pal named in a random online recipe.

Enter only Pals you can actually assign to a Breeding Farm. A Pal seen in the Paldeck but not owned does not shorten your route. Also check gender before committing to a chain: the species route may be correct while an intermediate hatch still needs to be repeated to obtain the required male or female.

3. Separate “get Anubis” from “perfect Anubis”

For the first successful species hatch, use the cheapest Cake that completes the route. Once you own both a male and female Anubis, breed Anubis with Anubis. Same-species parents breed true, so every normal result remains Anubis while you work on passive skills, talents, active skills, or Mutation.

This two-phase approach prevents a common waste: trying to preserve four perfect passives through a long mixed-species chain before you have secured the target species. First solve the deterministic species problem. Then solve the probability-based quality problem.

Breeding Anubis step by step

1. Unlock and build a Breeding Farm at Technology level 19.
2. Choose a verified 1.0 pair from the calculator or planner.
3. Assign one male and one female parent to the farm.
4. Put Cake in the farm's dedicated chest.
5. Wait for the egg, move it to an Egg Incubator, and hatch it.
6. Confirm the Anubis gender and passives before deciding whether to repeat the pair.

One Cake is consumed for each breeding attempt. The standard Cake is enough to obtain the species. Palworld 1.0's specialized Cakes affect egg quantity or quality: Vegetable Cake produces two eggs, Extravagant Vegetable Cake makes Mutation more likely and improves talent growth, and Special Cake improves the chance of inheriting multiple passive skills. None of those Cakes turns an incorrect parent combination into Anubis.

Common Anubis breeding mistakes

Using a pre-1.0 chart. This is the largest source of wasted Cake. If a guide does not explicitly say it uses the revised July 2026 combination table, verify every pair again.

Treating “popular” as “fastest.” A pair is only fast when you own both parents. Let your save determine the route instead of copying someone else's Palbox.

Ignoring gender. The combination can be correct and still be unusable until you have one male and one female. Keep a spare hatch when building intermediate routes.

Expecting Mutation to repair the species. Mutation is a low-chance quality event. It does not replace a wrong child result with Anubis.

Rerolling premium Cakes too early. Use standard Cake to establish the species line, then spend specialized Cakes on same-species Anubis parents carrying the passives or talents you want.
